The Human Resources Section of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (GLA ALA) serves as an educational and networking group for GLA ALA members interested in topics related but not limited to Employee Relations, Changes with Rules and Regulations that govern a firm, Employee Benefits, Recognition Programs, and Salary Increases. The Human Resources Section is open to any member of the GLA ALA. Members of the section include Executive Directors, Office Administrators, Human Resources Managers, Firm Administrators, Administrative Services Managers and a variety of individuals with other titles. Other than Chapter Membership, there are no prerequisites to join the group.
How to join
There is no fee to join the Human Resources Section, nor forms to complete. Simply update your Section Membership in My Info under Sections.
The Chairperson of the Section coordinates periodic meetings of the Section which are announced in the GLA ALA newsletter Leadership Exchange, the GLA ALA website http://www.glaala.org/calendar.htm, as well as email Blasts to Human Sections members. These meetings are usually held around the lunch hour at the offices of a member Firm and lunch is provided. The format of the meetings vary and include roundtable discussions, and presentations involving vendors or other experts.
Meetings are generally held the 4th Tuesday of the month in odd numbered months (i.e., Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept, Nov) and alternate between a downtown LA and Westside location. Depending on the topic and other factors, the number of participants in a meeting range from 10 to 25+.
